KFC Turns Up Their Social Buzz With New Tagline

by Jason Keath on Jun 04, 2010

“KFC is preparing to launch a new global tag line for its products in TV and print, and it’s preparing the ground by launching a social media campaign among fans to compete for free food from their local KFC on June 17.

To enter, fans must sign up to “like” KFC’s Facebook page, fan the brand on MySpace or follow it on Twitter. They must then post on one of those pages why they think their town or city is “So Good”—the new tag line for KFC’s ad campaigns. Entrants can also e-mail a nomination to sogood@kfc.com.”

One store in each of the 50 states will give 100 free servings of their new “Big Crunch Extra Crispy chicken strips” to customers via social media channels.

This is the first global ad campaign by KFC. I dig the “so good” tagline and hashtag and the fact that they are incorporating it around the social media sphere. I only wonder if they could have done a little better than a free chicken strip.

I thought this was a good campaign by KFC. Of course, I nominated Charlotte, NC and look forward to some free food coming our way!

Interesting that their new tagline is hashtag friendly. Smart. Still think their chicken sucks ;)
