12.1.10: Social Fresh BonVoyage Party
Posted by richtucker in Attend, Enjoy on November 19th, 2010
One of my favorite parts of the 2009 Social Fresh Cruise was the Bon Voyage Party, where almost 200 local social media and technology peeps welcomed us to Miami. While planning this year’s Social Fresh Cruise, we decided to change the departure port to New Orleans so that we’d have the opportunity to meet all of our online #NOLA friends face to face at the Bon Voyage party.
Over 25 of the Social Fresh Cruisers are coming to New Orleans on December 1st, the day before the cruise to experience the local cuisine, sights, and to meet as many of the local Social & Tech Community as possible. The Social Fresh Cruisers are coming from Chicago, Denver, Austin, Charlotte, NYC, Tampa, Atlanta, & more. The #NOLA Social & Tech community’s impressive representation at South by Southwest has me extremely excited about the potential of the #NOLA Social Fresh Cruise Bon Voyage Party.
#NOLA BonVoyage Tweetup Details:
Starts: 8 PM - Pelican Bar in the Sheraton Hotel on Canal St in New Orleans.
10 PM – Moving the Tweetup to Cat’s Meow for a little #TechKaraoke
Cost: Of course admission is FREE!! Adult Beverages = Not Free
Please RSVP here so that we know how many to expect!

2009 SocialFresh BonVoyage Party
Social Media facilitates quick connections, but meeting face to face moves a weak connection to a strong connection almost immediately. If you’re not actively meeting your online friends in real life, you’re missing out on what makes it truly special. Hope to see you there!
Social Fresh Cruise 2010 Update
Posted by richtucker in Enjoy on September 29th, 2010
This post is a quick update on the 2nd annual Social Fresh Social Media Cruise, departing New Orleans on December 2nd, 2010. Thanks to the success of Social Fresh Cruise 2009, we’ve already surpassed last year’s reservations with over 2 months before we set sail. We’re also excited to announce that Ted Murphy and IZEA have teamed up with Social Fresh Cruise as an official content partner! Social Fresh Cruise social media sessions are much more interactive than a typical conference. We want to take advantage of the fact that we are traveling with a group of 90 amazing attendees who have real world successes, failures, thoughts, and ideas that we can all learn from. As social media leaders, the Social Fresh attendees will play a major role in contributing to the conversation during the sessions.
By combining the social aspects of a cruise vacation with interactive social media sessions, the Social Fresh Cruise attendees get an opportunity to build life-long relationship with others who are equally as passionate about the future of the Social Web. Our goal is for the Social Fresh Cruise sessions’ topics to spark thoughts and conversation that will last well beyond the cruise. I’m excited to announce a partial list of topics and session leaders:
Ted Murphy, CEO/Founder of IZEA The Future of Social Media Sponsorship. IZEA is the leader in Social Media Sponsorship, connecting social media publishers with advertisers through their platforms SocialSpark, WeReward and Sponsored Tweets.

The Team of cool people helping us with the Tweetup:
We’re very fortunate to have a great team on the ground in Miami helping us plan and promote the Social Fresh BonVoyage Tweetup. The DoubleTree Grand Hotel has been an awesome partner; getting us an incredible Group Rate for the Social Fresh Cruisers and providing the venue for the Tweetup. If you’re traveling a couple of hours for the Bon Voyage Tweetup and would like to stay at the Hotel; contact me at rtucker@cruisedeals.com so you can take advantage of our Group Rate.
A special thanks to @MiamiandBeaches who helped us get the venue and is bringing many of their members in the Miami Hospitality and Travel Industry who are embracing social media and are excited to meet our guests from out of town.
We will be joined by the South Florida new media community, including Social Media Club South Florida, RefreshMiami , AWC, and others at the Bon Voyage Tweetup. The Social Fresh Cruisers want to be able to put a Face to a Twitter ID for as many in our South Florida Network as possible!
